Thump Thump Thump Thump Thump Thump Thump

They're after your nuts!

Don't kid yourself, they're after your nuts!

Wow, the past 9 days have been a whirlwind. Many of you know that my girlfriend, Jeni, came to visit me and a few of you even got to meet her during this trip. In that time, there was a duality of events – simultaneously a great deal and nothing happened. Sure, there was a quick ComedyCity/ComedySportz location tour, a great meal with Josh, Kim, and Trish at The Bluestem (If you haven’t been there yet for their food & beverage happy hour 5-7pm, go. You can thank me later.) and Maggie Moos afterwards, a trip to the UMKC campus, a getaway to my parents house for the holiday weekend and my grandma & sister’s birthdays, a day at the K to watch Zack Greinke pitch against the Indians, a nice dinner at McCormick & Schmick’s courtesy of my co-workers and their bet that Jeni wouldn’t show up (the only stipulation was that Jeni couldn’t know about the bet and I held that up), and a cookout with friends and available family members in attendance. In between these periods of great activity was an even greater amount of nothing – no activity, just lounging and talking, sitting out on the deck enjoying the beautiful weather and talking, or sleeping in after staying up late talking.

It’s funny the things you notice while laying in bed in the early morning hours, like the squirrels that seem to be using my roof as a race track. It seemed every morning, they were bounding around… thump thump thump thump thump thump thump. Even more funny (to me anyway) is the sound you notice when getting a scalp massage… thump thump thump thump thump thump thump. I have brain squirrels! Help! Help! It’s the brain squirrels!

Back to the post at hand…

Jeni is currently winging her way back to Arizona where she will await word on when she can have gall bladder surgery. After she has healed from that, I will be heading out to Arizona to help pack her up for her move to KC. There is a chance that she can get her surgery done here and that would mean she would be moving sooner, but I think that likelihood is very slim. In either case, she should be back in time to join us for my family’s cousins reunion coming up in mid-July (that will be interesting) which will give her some time to get acclimated before having to jump back into school again. I can honestly say that I. Can’t. Wait. She’s been gone for only two hours and I already miss her.

Oh you kids and your young love. Prayers headed your way and Jeni’s way for her surgery. Wish I could have met her! She must be pretty special to have caught your eye.

Can’t wait to meet her. Glad to hear that she’s going to make it to Galesburg this summer to meet me.

As a side note, I didn’t know that you like Ivy.
